Sterling Rangers (Baytown, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fort Bend Dulles Vikings (Sugar Land, TX), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Rangers now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stratford for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 23. Sterling will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 10-6 league loss to Cy-Fair (Cypress, TX). The Spartans record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Fort Bend Dulles falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Ridge Point (Missouri City, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 6A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, February 28. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Ridge Point lost 10-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Heritage (Frisco, TX)
