The Gila Ridge Hawks routed the visiting Payson Longhorns softball squad by a final score of 10-4 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Hawks (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Arizona College Prep (Chandler, AZ). The Knights go into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Arizona College Prep nudged Dobson (Mesa, AZ), 10-5, in a non-league battle.

The Longhorns now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to American Leadership Academy for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 23. Payson will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 33-0 non-league win over Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ). The Patriots record now stands at 1-0.
