Lake of the Woods Bears (Baudette, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Floodwood Polar Bears (Floodwood, MN), 72-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lake of the Woods upgrades its record to 1-22 on the season. The Bears travel to Kelliher/Northome (Northome, MN) to play the Mustangs in a A Section 8 bout on Monday, February 26. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 7-15. Kelliher/Northome won 95-82 in their recent league bout against Blackduck (Blackduck, MN)

Next up, the Polar Bears play the Two Harbors Agates (Two Harbors, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 29. Floodwood will attempt to upgrade on its 0-23 season record. The Agates go into the bout with a 13-11 record after their 67-46 non-league win over Greenway (Coleraine, MN).
