Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL), 40-37 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 23-9 on the campaign.
