Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Sharks now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Lutcher for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. Southside will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Catholic of Pointe Coupee falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Hornets host Acadiana (Lafayette, LA) to face the Rams in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Acadiana won 13-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Bunkie (Bunkie, LA)
