Chisum Mustangs (Paris, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rivercrest Rebels (Bogata, TX), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gainesville for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1.

With the loss, Rivercrest falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Sam Rayburn (Ivanhoe, TX) to face the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24.
