Kinder Yellowjackets (Kinder, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Carmel for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. Kinder will face a Cubs squad coming off a 10-4 non-league win over South Beauregard (Longville, LA). The Cubs record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Merryville falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host DeQuincy (DeQuincy, LA) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. DeQuincy lost 11-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Rosepine (Rosepine, LA)
