Arizona High School Softball - Holbrook bounces Cactus

The Holbrook Roadrunners routed the visiting Cactus Cobras softball squad by a count of 14-3 in Thursday's non-league battle.
The Roadrunners (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ). The Pride go into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Mountain Pointe topped Cactus (Glendale, AZ), 12-1, in a non-league battle.
The Cobras now sport a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Westwood for a non-league bout on Friday, February 25.
Game Summary
Going into game 2 at the Dobson/Westwood Softball Tournament. The Cobras came out and had the Bases loaded with 1 out in the first inning but were unable to push a run across Against the Roadrunners. Tanya Windle had another great pitching performance. Striking out 14 Roadrunners. Unfortunately, our team was unable to stop the Roadrunners from putting pressure on our young team. Windle had a great game on the mound and at the plate going 2-2 with a triple and a Homerun. The Cobras had their chances every inning but could not break thru until the 5th inning where we scored 3 runs. The team did get better from the previous contest and will continue to Grow.
