The Amherst Central Tigers basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Grand Island Vikings to 34 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Starpoint for a Section 6 Erie County II contest on Tuesday, February 28. Amherst Central will battle a Spartans team coming off a 53-51 non-league win over Charter School for Applied Tech (Buffalo, NY). The Spartans record now stands at 11-10.
