Wessington Springs Spartans (Wessington Springs, SD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels (Forestburg, SD), 53-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wessington Springs upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to Burke (Burke, SD) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 28. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-14. Burke won 46-41 in their recent league bout against Avon (Avon, SD)

Next up, the Rebels clash with the Bon Homme Cavaliers (Tyndall, SD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 27. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 62-48 non-league loss to Irene/Wakonda (Irene, SD).
