LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX), 61-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 19-6 on the season. The Flyers travel to Martins Mill (Ben Wheeler, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 25. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 30-6. Martins Mill won 41-32 in their recent non-league bout against Tenaha (Tenaha, TX)
