The Merced Bears got by the visiting Summerville Bears baseball team by a count of 3-2 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Bears now possess a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gustine for a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 28. Merced will face a Reds team coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to Mendota (Mendota, CA). The Reds record now stands at 0-2.
