DeLand Bulldogs (DeLand, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nature Coast Tech Sharks (Brooksville, FL), 14-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mainland for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 27. DeLand will battle a Buccaneers squad coming off a 23-0 non-league loss to Deltona (Deltona, FL). The Buccaneers record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Nature Coast Tech falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Sharks host Citrus (Inverness, FL) to battle the Hurricanes in a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Hurricanes enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Citrus won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Crystal River (Crystal River, FL)
