St. Charles Catholic Comets (LaPlace, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Amant for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 28. St. Charles Catholic will battle a Gators squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA). The Gators record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, East Ascension falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Vandebilt Catholic (Houma, LA) to battle the Terriers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. The Terriers enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Vandebilt Catholic lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Destrehan (Destrehan, LA)
