In Saturday's non-league contest, the Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX), by a margin of 9-0.

With the triumph, Porter moves its record to 2-5 on the year. The Cowboys host Pace (Brownsville, TX) to play the Vikings in a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, March 1. The Vikings come into the contest with a record of 2-3. Pace won 5-2 in their recent non-league contest against Economedes (Edinburg, TX)

In their next game, the Jaguars play the Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 24. Economedes will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 4-2 record after their 18-2 non-league loss to Lopez (Brownsville, TX).
