The Harlingen Cardinals softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Paetow Panthers to 1 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Harlingen moves its record to 8-3 on the year. The Cardinals travel to La Grange (La Grange, TX) to clash with the Leopards in a non-league game on Thursday, February 29. The Leopards come into the game with a record of 0-7. La Grange lost 4-2 in their recent non-league game against East Bernard (East Bernard, TX)

In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Jordan Warriors (Fulshear, TX) in a 6A Region III District 19 test, on Tuesday, February 27. Paetow will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Warriors enter the test with a 4-6 record after their 10-4 non-league win over Cypress Falls (Houston, TX).
