Manvel Mavericks (Manvel, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Henrietta Bearcats (Henrietta, TX), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host Texas City for a 5A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. Manvel will face a Stingarees squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Calallen (Corpus Christi, TX). The Stingarees record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Henrietta falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Tascosa (Amarillo, TX) to face the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 4-7.
