New Caney Eagles (New Caney, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kountze Lions (Kountze, TX), 10-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host Oak Ridge for a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, February 27.

With the loss, Kountze falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Lions host Orangefield (Orangefield, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a 3A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
