North Mustangs (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Valley Vista for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. North will battle a Monsoon squad coming off a 13-4 non-league win over Central (Phoenix, AZ). The Monsoon record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Westview falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Knights host Youngker (Buckeye, AZ) to battle the Roughriders in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Roughriders enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Youngker lost 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Shadow Ridge (Surprise, AZ)
