The Eagles now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Chambers for a 3A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, March 1. Newton will battle a Buccaneers squad coming off a 15-5 non-league loss to Beaumont United (Beaumont, TX). The Buccaneers record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Kennard falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Groveton (Groveton, TX) to battle the Indians in a 2A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, March 1. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 9-4. Groveton won 15-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Kilgore (Kilgore, TX)
