The Cotulla Cowboys (Cotulla, TX) softball nipped the host Rudder Rangers (Bryan, TX), 1-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Cowboys (9-3) will now prepare for their bout against Luling (Luling, TX). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 6-7 record. In their last bout, Luling held off Manor (Manor, TX), 2-1, in a non-league bout.
The Rangers now possess a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Montgomery for a 5A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, February 28. Rudder will confront a Bears squad coming off a 10-3 non-league loss to Spring (Spring, TX). The Bears record now stands at 4-5.
