The Sherman Bearcats (Sherman, TX) softball nipped the visiting Independence Knights (Frisco, TX), 13-12 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Bearcats (8-6) will now prepare for their bout against Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 11-1 record. In their last bout, Sulphur Springs held off Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX), 8-2, in a non-league bout.
