North Carolina High School Baseball - Polk County edges Madison

February 25, 2025: Columbus, NC 28722

The Polk County Wolverines baseball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Madison Patriots to 1 in the Wolverines non-league win on Tuesday.

The Wolverines now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Rosman for a non-league test on Saturday, March 1. Polk County will play a Tigers team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Madison drops to 0-1 on the year. The Patriots travel to West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC) to play the Falcons in a non-league test on Friday, February 28. The Falcons go into the test with a record of 1-1. West Henderson won 16-2 in their recent non-league test against Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC)
