In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars basketball team scored a big 54-12 triumph over the Lawrence Free State Firebirds.

The Cougars (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Olathe South (Olathe, KS). The Falcons go into the Sunflower contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Olathe South smashed Shawnee Mission South (Shawnee Mission, KS), 57-32, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Firebirds confront the Mill Valley Jaguars (Shawnee, KS) in a Sunflower contest, on Friday, February 28. Lawrence Free State will attempt to better on its 3-17 season record. The Jaguars go into the contest with a 10-9 record after their 63-39 league loss to Olathe North (Olathe, KS).
