The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) and the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), observed Union Academy's softball team notch a victory over East Rutherford by a tally of 12-1.
The Cardinals (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against Anson (Wadesboro, NC). The Bearcats go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Anson was routed by South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 12-1, in a non-league test.
The Cavaliers (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Crest (Shelby, NC). The Chargers go into the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Crest prevailed over McDowell (Marion, NC), 3-1, in a non-league test.
