In Tuesday's non-league test, the Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX) softball squad overwhelmed the host Hudson Hornets (Lufkin, TX), by a count of 9-1.
Next, the Pirates meet the MacArthur Generals (Houston, TX) in a non-league test, on Thursday, February 27. Shepherd will attempt to upgrade on its 12-2 season record. The Generals go into the test with a 1-5 record after their 13-3 league win over Nimitz (Houston, TX).
The Hornets (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Lago Vista (Lago Vista, TX). The Vikings go into the non-league test with a 1-6 record. In their last test, Lago Vista toppled Marble Falls (Marble Falls, TX), 11-1, in a non-league test.
