Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Los Lunas Tigers (Los Lunas, NM), 18-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Hawks now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Eldorado for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 2.
With the loss, Los Lunas falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM) to battle the Rams in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 3. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
