In Monday's non-league contest, the Newman Greenies (New Orleans, LA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Bonnabel Bruins (Kenner, LA), by a margin of 19-2.

With the triumph, Newman moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Greenies travel to St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA) to play the Saints in a non-league contest on Tuesday, March 5. The Saints come into the contest with a record of 1-3. St. Martin's Episcopal lost 15-0 in their recent non-league contest against Fisher (Lafitte, LA)

In their next game, the Bruins play the West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA) in a 5A District 8 contest, on Wednesday, February 28. Bonnabel will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record.
