Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 16-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Cherokee improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Braves travel to Rosman (Rosman, NC) to play the Tigers in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 4. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 0-0.

The Cougars now hold a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Henderson for a non-league match on Friday, February 28.
