The Wheatley Wildcats ran past the visiting La Vega Pirates basketball team by a final score of 64-53 in Tuesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the Silsbee Tigers (Silsbee, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 1. Wheatley will attempt to move on its 23-6 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 26-9 record after their 71-56 non-league win over Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX).

With the defeat, La Vega moves to 25-5 on the year.
