The Deweyville Pirates softball team scored 25 runs and limited the host Burkeville Mustangs to 6 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Deweyville improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Pirates host Sabine Pass (Sabine Pass, TX) to clash with the Sharks in a 1A Region III District 24 game on Monday, March 25. The Sharks come into the game with a record of 1-0.

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the Newton Eagles (Newton, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 1. Burkeville will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 3-1 record after their 21-0 league loss to Pollok Central (Pollok, TX).
