The Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) baseball trounced the host Pearsall Mavericks (Pearsall, TX), 8-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
The Hawks now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brennan for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 28. Zapata will clash with a Bears team coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Antonian Prep (San Antonio, TX). The Bears record now stands at 0-3.
With the defeat, Pearsall drops to 0-5 on the year. The Mavericks travel to Medina Valley (Castroville, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 27. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 2-0. Medina Valley won 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against San Marcos (San Marcos, TX)
