In Thursday's non-league test, the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions (Kingsville, TX) softball squad overwhelmed the host Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees (Corpus Christi, TX), by a tally of 8-2.

Next, the Lions clash with the Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) in a non-league test, on Friday, February 28. Santa Gertrudis Academy will attempt to advance on its 12-4 season record. The Chargers go into the test with a 4-4 record after their 12-1 non-league loss to Weslaco (Weslaco, TX).

The Warriors & Cherokees (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Harlingen (Harlingen, TX). The Cardinals go into the non-league test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Harlingen held off La Joya (La Joya, TX), 15-0, in a non-league test.
