The Gilmer Buckeyes baseball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Marshall Mavericks to 6 in the Buckeyes non-league win on Friday.

The Buckeyes now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spring Hill for a 4A Region II District 16 test on Tuesday, March 3. Gilmer will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Bullard (Bullard, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 2-1.

The Mavericks (3-3) will now prepare for their outing against Kaufman (Kaufman, TX). The Lions come into the non-league outing with a 1-5 record. In their last outing, Kaufman was nudged by Gilmer (Gilmer, TX), 5-1, in a non-league outing.
