Chapel Hill Red Devils (Mount Pleasant, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harmony for a 3A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Chapel Hill will face a Eagles squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Grand Saline (Grand Saline, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, McLeod falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Bowie (Simms, TX) to face the Pirates in a 1A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 10. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 2-6.
