In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) softball team held off the visiting Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM), by a margin of 2-1.
With the triumph, Cooper moves its record to 6-1 on the year. The Pirates travel to Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX) to play the Tigers in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 4. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 4-10.
In their next game, the Wildcats play the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 3. Lovington will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Matadors come into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 4-3 non-league loss to Cibola (Albuquerque, NM).
