The Hays Hawks baseball team scored 19 runs and held the host Canyon Cougars to 1 in the Hawks non-league win on Friday.

The Hawks now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexander for a non-league test on Friday, February 28. Hays will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 12-6 non-league win over Churchill (San Antonio, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-2.

With the defeat, Canyon drops to 4-3 on the year. The Cougars host Johnson (San Antonio, TX) to clash with the Jaguars in a non-league test on Thursday, March 6. The Jaguars go into the test with a record of 2-2. Johnson lost 12-7 in their recent non-league test against Coronado (El Paso, TX)
