The Lincolnton Wolves baseball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Shelby Golden Lions to 6 in the Wolves non-league win on Friday.
The Wolves now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bunker Hill for a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A test on Tuesday, March 4. Lincolnton will clash with a Bears team coming off a 13-11 non-league loss to West Iredell (Statesville, NC). The Bears record now stands at 1-2.
With the defeat, Shelby drops to 0-3 on the year. The Golden lions host Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test on Tuesday, March 4. The Yellow Jackets go into the test with a record of 2-1. Bessemer City won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Huss (Gastonia, NC)
