California High School Softball - Independence knocked off by Centennial

February 28, 2026: Bakersfield, CA 93311

The Centennial Golden Hawks routed the host Independence Falcons softball team by a margin of 14-2 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Golden Hawks now sport a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clovis East for a non-league battle on Monday, March 2. Centennial will encounter a Timberwolves team coming off a 14-5 non-league win over Arroyo Grande (Arroyo Grande, CA). The Timberwolves record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Independence moves to 0-3 on the season. The Falcons travel to Foothill (Bakersfield, CA) to encounter the Trojans in a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 3. The Trojans come into the battle with a record of 0-1. Foothill lost 12-2 in their recent non-league test against Ridgeview (Bakersfield, CA)
