North Stars (Bakersfield, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Garfield Bulldogs (Los Angeles, CA), 36-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North upgrades its record to 28-6 on the campaign. The Stars travel to San Pedro (San Pedro, CA) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 2. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 23-11. San Pedro won 78-65 in their recent non-league bout against Firebaugh (Lynwood, CA)
