In Thursday's non-league outing, the Newfane Panthers (Newfane, NY) basketball squad edged the visiting Olmsted Owls (Buffalo, NY), by a count of 49-48.

The Panthers (20-2) will now prepare for their outing against Salamanca (Salamanca, NY). The Warriors come into the non-league challenge with a 17-5 record. In their last challenge, Salamanca nipped Akron (Akron, NY), 62-48, in a non-league challenge.
