The Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) basketball nipped the host Acorn Tigers (Mena, AR), 71-69 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Cougars (21-7) will now prepare for their test against Mansfield (Mansfield, AR). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 30-0 record. In their last test, Mansfield got by Marshall (Marshall, AR), 67-26, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 27-6 record.
