The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Texas Tigers (Texarkana, TX) and the host Commerce Tigers (Commerce, TX), saw Texas's softball squad nip Commerce by a count of 9-4.

The Tigers now sport a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pine Tree for a 5A Region II District 15 match on Tuesday, March 5. Texas will face a Pirates squad coming off a 6-3 non-league loss to Hooks (Hooks, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Commerce falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Gainesville (Gainesville, TX) to face the Leopards in a non-league match on Thursday, February 29. The Leopards enter the match with a record of 1-3. Gainesville lost 13-0 in their recent non-league match against Turner (Carrollton, TX)
