Pottsboro Cardinals (Pottsboro, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cooper Bulldogs (Cooper, TX), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greenville for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. Pottsboro will battle a Lions squad coming off a 14-10 non-league win over Whitewright (Whitewright, TX). The Lions record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Cooper falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Bells (Bells, TX) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Bells won 16-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Wolfe City (Wolfe City, TX)
