Crockett Bulldogs (Crockett, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Apple Springs for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. Crockett will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Cushing (Cushing, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, LaPoynor falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Flyers host Kerens (Kerens, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a 2A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 15-4.
