The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the visiting Huss Huskies (Gastonia, NC), saw Shelby's softball squad achieve victory over Huss by a count of 18-3.

The Golden Lions now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Highland Tech for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A match on Tuesday, March 5.

With the loss, Huss falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Huskies host South Point (Belmont, NC) to face the Red Raiders in a Big South 3A match on Tuesday, March 12. The Red Raiders enter the match with a record of 2-0.
