Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Incarnate Word Shamrocks (San Antonio, TX), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Matadors now own a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they host Zapata for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. Seguin will face a Hawks squad coming off a 4-0 league loss to La Feria (La Feria, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Incarnate Word falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Shamrocks travel to Alice (Alice, TX) to face the Coyotes in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. The Coyotes enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Alice won 11-10 in their recent non-league challenge against Devine (Devine, TX)
