South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Davie for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. South Iredell will battle a War Eagles squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC). The War Eagles record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, North Iredell falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Raiders host Bandys (Catawba, NC) to battle the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Bandys won 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Foard (Newton, NC)
