Fans at Friday's league challenge between the North Central Hurricanes (Lebeau, LA) and the host Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA), saw North Central's basketball squad wallop Catholic of Pointe Coupee by a count of 97-60.

With the victory, North Central upgrades its record to 16-10 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Ville Platte (Ville Platte, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 13-5. Ville Platte won 68-59 in their recent league challenge against Mamou (Mamou, LA)

Next up, the Hornets play the False River Gators (New Roads, LA) in a 1A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Gators come into the challenge with a 2-16 record after their 94-56 league loss to Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA).
