The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Clever Blue Jays to 54 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marshfield for a Big 8 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Mt. Vernon will meet a Bluejays team coming off a 50-41 league win over Reeds Spring (Reeds Spring, MO). The Bluejays record now stands at 8-12.

The Blue Jays (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Strafford (Strafford, MO). The Indians enter the Mid-Lakes contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Strafford nudged Seymour (Seymour, MO), 59-49, in a non-league contest.
